Con su apoyo al Senador Barack Obama, el Congresista novato David Loebsack, del 2º Distrito de Iowa, es el último de los tres representantes demócratas de Iowa en Washington que se pronuncia en la carrera presidencial. Los endorsement han escenificado a la perfección la confusión existente. Cada uno de los tres Congresistas ha apoyado a un candidato diferente. (...) Loebsack planned to announce his endorsement after a speaking engagement in Des Moines before returning to Washington, where Congress is still in session.
Loebsack was a professor at Cornell College and a veteran Democratic activist who ousted veteran Republican Rep. Jim Leach in last year's election in a race that was marked by mutual respect and few insults.
